Joseph "Peppi" is fed up with his job at the supermarket checkout. He has a dream, he wants to make it big as the Schlager singer "Peppichino". Peppi throws everything away to concentrate completely on his future career as a pop star. His wife Marieanne doesn't think much of his plans. But his best friend Dietmar encourages and supports him in fulfilling his dream. This year's village festival is supposed to give Peppi the breakthrough he is hoping for, but there is a small problem.
